VITA Services & Sites:

Classic VITA:

This option provides fully in-person tax prep. Visit a site, meet with a certified preparer, and complete a quality review before filing. The process takes 45 minutes to a few hours depending on complexity. Some sites require appointments; others allow walk-ins. You’re encouraged to check ahead.

Leave & Retrieve VITA:

Taxpayers visit a site in person, start with a 20 to 30-minute intake and provide your documents, and preparers work on your return while you leave. You’ll return later (after a couple hours or another day) for quality review and to retrieve your documents before the return can be filed.

Doc Drop and Go VITA:

Complete intake at a site (20-30 minutes), then documents are scanned and uploaded to a secure portal before you leave for virtual preparation. You will then be contacted to participate in a quality review by phone or virtually. Takes 7-10 days. Walk-in only.
